Burn Bright, Not Out: Tips for Sustaining Your Inner Glow

In today's world, many of us find that the demands of every day and maintaining all the “ should be" parts of life are leading to a space when we are feeling fizzled out!

As we strive to build this life, what is needed and wanted, we find that the rise of technology and blurred boundaries within the workplace are bombarding us with constant needs and the strive to achieve. That expectation to be “ on it “ around the clock if not for work then for families and friends!

Switching off and unwinding has become a space full of scrolling and still stimulating our minds instead of taking the time to truly relax.

That's why it's more important than ever to prioritize self-care, set healthy boundaries, and cultivate practices that nourish our mind, body, and soul. By doing so, we can not only sustain our inner glow but also thrive in the face of adversity, shining brightly in all aspects of our lives.

Some ways within positive psychology that we can focus on sustaining an inner glow?

  • Nurture Yourself :   Take time for self-care and self-compassion, Spend time focusing on those hobbies that bring joy to your life! Secondly creating regular practices that hold an important part of a self-care-focused daily life.

  • Dive into building resilience: Build yourself up for those times that you are struggling to keep that light afloat!  Start by reframing those thoughts that catch you out. Secondly, discover what brings meaning to you life and look for meaning in every day, lastly build knowledge of your support network so its easier to lean on if needed.

  • Set Healthy boundaries: Turn off, and tune in!  You do not have to be available 24 hours a day, there was a world before mobile technology and emails ( yes I am that old)

  • Practice gratitude! Search for moments in every life that you can appreciate it doesn’t have to be a formal way of putting this down on paper, building your focus into finding the beauty in life is a brilliant intervention

  • Embrace that imperfection: perfect doesn’t exist! Yes, I said it, that’s the truth every single person on this planet will have a different idea of perfect, and not one of them will ever be the same!  Embrace those flaws and explore a growth mindset, what can you learn?

You are human it's natural to burn brightly, it's essential to nurture and sustain our inner light to avoid burning out and hiding away. We are imaginative, creative beautiful human beings and we can find joy in the world without having to burn out on route, take note of your patterns and what works for you to create balance in the world!
